About Photouria
Photouria is a New Zealand photo book service, founded in 2026 by Flynn Bayly in Auckland. It uses AI to choose the best photos from your library and lay out a linen hardcover book, which you can change before it is printed. A book costs NZ$149 to NZ$219 with shipping included, and we ship to New Zealand, Australia, the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and most of Europe.
Why was Photouria made?
Flynn’s mum made a baby book for his brother. She meant to make one for Flynn too, and never managed it. The photos were all there, thousands of them, but choosing the right ones and laying them out was more than she ever found the evenings for.
That is the part Photouria does. Flynn built it so the book gets made: you bring the photos, it does the choosing and the layout, and you change whatever you like before anything is printed. We built Photouria for our own family’s photos first.
What does Photouria do?
You upload your photos from your phone or computer, or bring in a Google Photos library through Google Takeout, and say what the book is about: a year, a person, a trip, a baby’s first year. Photouria organises the photos, groups the people in them, chooses the best and lays out the whole book in the order the photos were taken.
You read it and change anything: swap photos, remove pages, add captions, put a title on the spine. Building the book is free and needs no account. You only pay when you order it.
Who prints the books?
Every book is printed to order by Lulu, a print company based in the United States, and sent to you by courier. Delivery usually takes 4 to 13 business days from the day you order.
Every Photouria book is the same object: a Lulu linen hardcover, woven linen over hardcover boards, your title foil stamped on the spine, and a printed dust jacket over the top. There are six sizes, from 14 × 22 cm up to A4 at 21 × 30 cm, and six linen colours. Inside, photos print on 80lb coated paper with a matte finish, and a book can run from 24 pages up to 800.
What does a book cost?
NZ$149 covers up to 30 photos, then NZ$10 for every 10 more, capped at NZ$219 from 91 photos up. Prices are in New Zealand dollars wherever the book is going, and shipping is included. There is no subscription.
